Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 medium apples, any variety (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar to enhance the caramelized flavor
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon essential for flavor
  • 1 pinch nutmeg optional, can elevate the flavor
  • butter or cooking spray for greasing the air fryer basket

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and peeling your apples. Cut them into bite-sized cubes, ensuring they’re uniform for even cooking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the apple cubes, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg if you’re feeling fancy. Toss everything together until the apple cubes are nicely coated.
  3. Set your air fryer to 350°F (around 180°C) to preheat for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with butter or cooking spray (optional).
  2. Place the apple mixture in the basket in a single layer for the best results. Air fry for about 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  3. After 10 minutes, the apples should be tender and softly caramelized. If you prefer them a bit more roasted, give them an extra 2-3 minutes.
Serving
  1. Remove the cubed cinnamon apples from the air fryer, and enjoy them warm, perhaps with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!

Notes

Choose a mix of sweet and tart apples for complex flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes on 350°F.
