Preparation
- Start by washing and peeling your apples. Cut them into bite-sized cubes, ensuring they’re uniform for even cooking.
- In a large bowl, combine the apple cubes, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg if you’re feeling fancy. Toss everything together until the apple cubes are nicely coated.
- Set your air fryer to 350°F (around 180°C) to preheat for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with butter or cooking spray (optional).
- Place the apple mixture in the basket in a single layer for the best results. Air fry for about 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- After 10 minutes, the apples should be tender and softly caramelized. If you prefer them a bit more roasted, give them an extra 2-3 minutes.
Serving
- Remove the cubed cinnamon apples from the air fryer, and enjoy them warm, perhaps with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!
Notes
Choose a mix of sweet and tart apples for complex flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes on 350°F.
