Ingredients

For the Apple Fries
  • 3 medium-sized apples (any variety you prefer) Opt for crisp varieties like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Panko works best)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar For sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For flavoring.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Cinnamon Sugar Dip
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce For the dip option, mix with cinnamon.
  • Optional: additional powdered sugar for dusting For added sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the apples. Core and cut them into thin wedges to resemble fries.
  2. In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour, and in another bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Coating
  1. Dip each apple wedge in the flour to coat it lightly, followed by dipping it into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Arrange the apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Serving
  1. Once done, remove the fries from the air fryer and allow them to cool for a minute. Serve them warm with the cinnamon sugar dip or plain.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, place them back in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
